Meditation Myths

It is possible that you have heard the following things about meditation:

That meditation is hard, that you have to stop all your thoughts in order to meditate, that you have to practice many years in order to receive any of it’s benefits, that it is not a comfortable practice and you have to convert into a monk in order to meditate, or that it is a religion.

The truth is that we are always thinking and we cannot stop that process, nor do we want to! Thoughts are part of us and thinking is vital proof that we are alive. We have to remember that thoughts are part of our meditation practice, the big difference is that we do not have to acknowledge them during meditation.
