Put a little Love in your Heart
Yesterday I took a yoga class from a teacher and friend, Yara. She likes to add poses that have a lot of twists and chest opening, such as fish pose.
I have a home practice, but when you take somebody else’s class, you find that there are other areas in your body that you do not target on your own.
This morning, I woke up feeling the effects of the class. I noticed that my attire for the day was all green, I didn’t think too much of it. As usual, as I sat down to write down in my journal the things I will be working on today. Without much thought, I started writing with a green pen out of other colors that were standing on my pen holder cup. It wasn’t until I decided to make myself a cup of tea, which turned out to be, yes you will guess right, ‘green tea’, that I noticed the pattern. The theme seemed to be the color green.
As some of you might know, green is the color for the Heart Chakra, also known as the Anahata Chakra, which is it’s original Sanskrit name. This chakra is situated in the middle of the chakra system, a system of seven. This chakra embodies our ability for Self-Love and love for others. Other meanings or functions associated with it are compassion, empathy, forgiveness, acceptance, transformation and change, just to mention a few. In our bodies, it can be found at the center of the chest.
To finish this note, the song that I have stuck in my head… Put a little love in your heart. Either played by Annie Lennox & Al Green or the latest one that was played on the Flash Musical.
‘Think of your fellow man, lend him a helping hand… Put a little love in your heart and the world will be a better place …’ Namaste.
